How do I print on three part listing paper without a dot matrix printer?

Ink jet will only print the top sheet and my dot matrix has failed. Do I need to buy a new one?

Dot Matrix is the only style printer that "mechanically impacts" the paper ( thereby activating the carbon-paper like copies).
Replace it with such or change your printout to have the inkjet print additional copies on single sheets.

How do I print USPS barcodes on a Microline 320 dot matrix printer?

Does anyone now how to print postnet barcodes on a microline 320 dot matrix printer?

I really don't know exactly what you are asking, but I will give it a try.

USPS does not want the general public to start printing barcodes on their mail. The reason being is that we require mailers that are claiming a discounted rate of postage to use very specialized software for generating their addressing. It is called CASS Certified.

For the average home user, the software is far too expensive, and requires updating every 2 months, which can also be quite expensive. CASS performs an address matching function. This determines that the elements of the address match each other and also appear in the USPS databases so that they can be Delivery Point Barcoded.

At this point in time the Postnet DPBC is the minimum you need to claim an automated rate.

This whole thing just isn't practical for the average person to use.

How does a color printer print out color using only three colors? What is the dot formation of these colors?

I need to know how printers print out colored pictures using only three colors. How do these colors form pictures and what is the dot formation of them?

The three colors used are red, blue, and yellow. Out of these colors, you can make any other color. Computers measure precisely how much red, blue, and yellow are used to make the new color.

What determines the quality of print for a dot matrix printer?

A prompt answer would be surely appreciated

The quality is determined by the DPI setting (dots per inch) - the higher the better the quality.

With dot matrix printers ink is not such a problem as it uses a ribbon that the pins strike, much like a typewriter.

The other thing to be aware of, if the printer is not new, is that the pins may be damaged or worn down if used a lot although it does take a lot of usage for this to be a problem.

What should I do to take dot matrix printing quality more effective and clear using crystal reports?

  • Why Apple Will Never Make Printers Again

That's the question a Macworld editor put to me when describing the slideshow look at Apple-built printers over the years . I'm not sure if the editor was joking, but it took me a while to stop laughing before I could remind him why some things are better left in the past.

Frankly, there's no money in printers, only in printer supplies--and you can only get that revenue if you make the printing engine. Apple never did.

As discussed in this overview of Apple's printer business , the company sold printers throughout the 1980s and 1990s because it needed to be sure that high-quality printers were available for its computers. You may forget that the "Windows monopoly" didn't really consolidate until around 1995-1996. In the '80s there were lots of computer makers; in the early '90s, the operating systems were so fragmented that every application supported its own graphic printer drivers. Consider yourself lucky if you don't remember the days when PC owners had to check every application to see if it was compatible with their particular printer.

Social Media is just a fad… - Graphic Design Forums and Website ...

It is. Kind of. In that everyone's jumping on the bandwagon with little or no thought as to why. It's just another tool, along with radio, tv, press etc. Not saying it's not important, but it's not the be all and end all - sometimes a press ad or a piece of print, or beautifully shot TV campaign will be the right thing to do. Remember when the internet all kicked off and people said it was the end of print? About 3 years ago, I sat with an awful lot of marketing execs all scratching their heads saying "i know we need it, but I don't know why or what we're supposed to do with it." Sadly, it needs to be a meaningful application of the media for the public to buy into a brand, and most...
